This amazing glass structure was built by Milan based JM Architects on Lake Lugano. It is 3,700 square feet and sits between Switzerland and Italy.
A polygonal shaped glass pavilion with rounded edges stands above a linear underground block. The living and dining room, the kitchen and
storage spaces are located in the pavilion, while bedrooms, bathrooms and garage are in the lower level. There is also a roof garden from
where you can sit and watch the stunning panorama, including the forests and the lake. A phenomenal build. A spectacular home.

This home style is pure and open. It is made up of delineated living spaces which provide a space for everything…as long as everything is in it’s place. So not really for the messy maximalist and more for the efficient, stylish minimalist.
To recreate something of the feel of this place in whatever type of home you live in, the duster and the bin liners have to be employed to remove all the unnecessaries and create the s-p-a-c-e. That gorgeous wide plank floor must be seen and be allowed to bestow it’s natural, calming influence in the environment. Where there isn’t glass there is delicious cream or off-white which adds to the calm atmosphere. The furniture is clean, stylish, mid century and modern. The pieces are so wisely chosen to fit this space and nothing here scream ‘OOOOPS! – Did I buy that?!’
Can you see how the indirect or cove lighting is so important for creating the atmosphere also? If you’re starting your build from scratch it’s always important to sort out your cove lighting design and recessed lighting ahead of time. If not, be clever with your choice of lamps and additional lighting.
As ever, if you are not able to have floor to ceiling windows make sure the ones that you have are not covered up with clutter and unnecessaries.
