Single Storey Home

Inspire Notes: So the owners wanted a single storey home with plenty of sunlight and good integration with nature…Boom! There it is! Beautiful, simple yet sophisticated. The flooring is well considered, absolutely lush. The gorgeous smokey wood panels screeeeeeam taste and style. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________   Detail is everything. Sleek, white corian surfaces, uber stylish minimalist spec, recessed lighting against a white backdrop. Chunky rug. This little masterpiece is made up of well thought out details, simplicity is key; the flooring, the wood panelling, the Barcelona chairs, window walls. The colour sketch is sublime. Smokey grey and white with isolated bursts of …

Belgian Country Home

Inspire Notes: A truly idyllic scene with chickens running freely, stone tiling, antique furniture, heavy old school oak doors, lots of hand made rugged raw furniture, fresh air and a peaceful country vibe. Even the ivy on the side of the home has grown in a dressy manner! If we put the dead animal carcase skins and hideous decapitated deer head well and truly aside this is a gorgeous space. All the elements are there to capture this kind of environment. Flowers, plants and fruit bowls abound, unbuffed wooden flooring, rattan baskets and chairs, handmade throws, roaring fireplace and rolltop …

Greek Townhouse

Inspire Notes: This Greek townhouse has all the best parts of fresh modern European living. Plenty of open air access, organic interior materials. everything is honest, simple and adds positively to the ambience. The flair and concern for client satisfaction and the environment is seamlessly delivered by Messrs Aaron Ritenour and Sotiris Mallas and is seen throughout this delicious home space.   The threat of non existent clutter is handsomely hidden behind the elegant white ash sliding doors, where a multitude of home media could also be hidden if you were to consider something similar in your home design. Creatives Home

Inspire Notes: This home is very typical of European space. Parquet flooring meets high ceilings, the traditional radiators for heating, two to three panel doors with some wood paneling along the walls. Very typical. Plastered all over this space is an artists personality and etchings. Undecorated walls add to the funk of the space including some great decorative and utilitarian pieces such as the vintage typewriter, the large lettering and the beaten up safe. Character! Character! Character! It’s eclectic and maximalist with a deliberate unfinished edge. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ see many more options from this style at the Style Index Our …

Stefan Soderberg Home

Inspire Notes: The home of Swedish designer Mr Stefan Soderberg boasts the clean lined calm and efficiency of Skandi chic. Lots of mid century reference, lovely parquet flooring, white skin and the large, scene stealing fireplace. The juxtaposition of the mid century pieces and the battered armchair is part of what forms the character of this charming space. Swan Chairs, Wishbone Chairs and Grand Prix Chairs abound, offering a nice mixture of seating options. Much is made of the height of the space with the long drop pendants.   ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The skin of this place is simple. White, interrupted by …

Bagnolet Loft

Inspire Notes: Here we find a home that is unassailably French. Having rambled, lived and dozed off in a few I know of what I speak. This space is artistic, bohemian, stylish, (mais bien sûr!) and unexpected. This loft is 5 metres high with a mezzanine that houses the bedrooms. The kitchen, bathroom and other utility areas are spread around the open space of the ground floor and the next floor up. The ground floor opens out to a neat garden with generous window space, which lets the light flood in on all the charming object d’arts and vintage …

Polish Home

Inspire Notes: This is such a welcoming vista. Plenty of soft furnishings and natural materials. Notice the throws, the linen curtains and the interior tree.   This is quite a feminine bathroom with lots of storage for nic nacs and a charming rustic sink unit. We sourced a square shaped rattan chair and you will note that this is a winged backed one, but we went for integrity of design shape coupled with availability at the time of sourcing. You might also enjoy the similarly simple (albeit larger)  grey framed mirror we have sourced. This is the best room. …

Madrid Home

Inspire Notes: We rather like this homestyle! It’s eclectic, accessible, do-able, a bit cheeky and unpretentious. From the very European-esque window shutters to the bowl with the magazines in, the cushions jostling for space on the much ‘bottomed’ sofa and the flowers in the bottles.   Two delicious accents catch our eye here. The round, fit to burst armchair – it’s a lovely colour for this room and the floor standing mirror. Also quite like the staging of this photograph with the dress sash singing in tune with the door’s glass paneling and the bed cover. Nice touch. Ah, the …
