Two words. Simple. Stylish. There is no excess to Ms Cohen’s creation. Simple white skin meets minimal fuss. Her accessory choices continue this simple language. To create a similar space you would say no to screamingly modern show-off items and opt for warm hand-made fair. There’s lots of interesting wood based accessorizing such as the teepee coat hanger and the wooden side table/stool in the shower and the stark simplicity is accentuated with the handle-less units in the kitchen and the bedroom.
Your kitchenware would reflect the pared down-to-earth look by opting for rustic bowls and dinner plates. You will notice there are no rugs, throws or other distractions and the flower pattern on the bedclothes is about as excessive as it gets.
If you are starting your home from the foundation up, what you can take from this example also is that this is a house built, (or rather renovated) with very thoughtful ideas about storage and space usage leaving very little room for waste in design.
