Ms Niki Bedford is an independent British designer with a most exquisite touch when it comes to upcycling furniture. She creates distressed furniture with the most beautiful patinas from her selected choice of hues.
“I am attracted to objects which are weathered and show signs of wear and tear, erosion and history. I try to emulate weathering and the beauty of decay in my work by using paper, plaster, canvas which I tear, scorch, layer and pin, creating rough edges and depth of texture.”
She was visually inspired by a childhood spent in Bahrain where most things would crack and weather under the sun’s glare. Ms Bedford is also an artist whose tactile work can be seen on her website along with her furniture. You can check her out at Source below.
